On 10th of January, Tuesday, was the opening day for DELFI multifunctional sports centre in Vilnius. Construction works of the centre, the most modern one in the whole region, were carried out by the companies Axis Power and Realco.

We are pleased to inform that the badminton and tennis courts, beach tennis and beach volleyball grounds, which are accommodated in the complex under a single roof, were named after AXIOMA, SOLVO and Veikmės Statyba.

The sports complex, which occupies an area of 4 500 square metres, was constructed and equipped in an unprecedentedly short time frame, just 7 months. The sports centre is equipped with 8 badminton grounds, 4 grounds for beach volleyball and beach tennis, and 2 tennis courts. A unique space for athletic training with an area of more than 400 square metres was also created here.

It is the first centre of this type meeting the highest international standards of sports federations, which arose in Lithuania during 26 years of the country's independence. The complex is expected to receive around 250 000 visitors a year.

DELFI intends to start the first year of its operation actively. It is planned as a place of several dozens of various events, including international tournaments, competitions and championships. Events will be broadcast live from the sports arena via the special online television channel DELFI TV. The sports centre has already received its first estimates, becoming a prize-winner in the field of sports management in Lithuania as the Sports Infrastructure Facility of the Year.
