As the power demand in Palanga has increased, Axis Power is tasked with reconstruction of a 110/10 kV transformer substation operating in this resort town. The contract signed by the company with Energijos Skirstymo Operatorius (ESO) provides for performance of the works worth more than 2 million euro.

“Palanga is the largest resort town in Lithuania that is continuously growing and investing into recreational objects of various purposes, thus, the demand in electricity supply grows accordingly. Reconstruction of the substation will allow Energijos Skirstymo Operatorius to connect more new clients and ensure a reliable power supply in Palanga,” said Mantas Galdikas, CEO at Axis Power.

“The reconstruction of the transformer substation in Palanga will allow to enhance the reliability of the power distribution grid and improve the quality of the services. More than 16 thousand residents, including business enterprises, will enjoy the benefits of the renewed and modernised facilities,” added Donatas Martinkus, Head of the ESO Klaipėda Power Network Operation Department.

ESO has recently reconstructed the transformer substation in Kretinga, Klaipėda Region, which allowed to improve reliability of electricity supply for more than 12 thousand customers. The investment into the Kretinga transformer substation amounted to more than 1.6 million euro.

Axis Power will be responsible for the substation design, construction, installation and start-up and tune-up works, supply of necessary equipment and staff training.

The works are expected to start at the end of the summer. Axis Power is expected to complete the first stage of reconstruction before 21 December of this year. The entire project will be implemented before the end of August 2019.

“We will need to work a prompt manner and with utmost precision because we have a tight schedule for the first stage of reconstruction works. Besides, we will have to ensure an uninterrupted power supply for the local residents and companies during the project,” shared Galdikas.

Axis Power is currently involved in 9 ongoing projects for reconstruction of transformer substations around Lithuania. The total number of projects related to supply of electricity is 50, including the works for connection of new users, replacement of cables lines or reconstruction of smaller distribution units and equipment.
