The Axis Power company won a two-part tender to rebuild parts of both the electrical transmission and distribution networks at the Grigiškės transformer substation. The tender was held by the Verslo Aptarnavimo Centras company, which was authorized by the Litgrid and Energijos Skirstymo Operatorius (ESO) companies. The contracts signed with these companies are worth a total of more than EUR 2 million.

This reconstruction project is being performed because the substation's current electrical capabilities are insufficient for the Grigeo Grigiškės company's factory.

“We've been working actively in the Lithuanian electricity market for a couple of decades, but this is the first time in our company's history that we've won a double tender,” said Axis Power CEO Mantas Galdikas.

Axis Power has been entrusted with completing the electricity distribution network substation's reconstruction within 22 months. The company will prepare a work project and replace the existing power transformers, compensator equipment, RPA and teleinformation collection and transmission devices, parts, cable lines, and enclosed switchgear cubicles. Axis Power will also perform construction and assembly tasks according to the site plan.

The electrical transmission network's reconstruction will take exactly two years. Axis Power will prepare a project that will determine the changes to be made to the site's structures and 110 kV open switchgear terminal enclosures. The company will also install new equipment for this switchgear and install lighting and grounding. The site's modular control point building will be rebuilt, the power and the control cables, RPA parts and teleinformation collection and transmission devices will be replaced, and various tuning/configuration and testing tasks will be performed.

The 110/6 kV Grigiškės transformer substation is a regional substation that provides electrical energy to the city of Grigiškės and regional consumers as well as the Grigeo Grigiškės factory. After the substation's reconstruction is completed, the amount of electricity available for use by consumers will increase and the electrical power will be provided safely and reliably.
